For only $19.95, ThoughtManager users can quickly capture ideas, organize them, then share them with others. "It's an incredibly versatile tool," says its creator, Shannon Pekary, president of Hands High Software. "We are amazed at the variety of ways it is being used today," he added. "We have reporters who use it to flesh out articles, project managers who use it to track the progress of project, teachers using it for lecture notes, and clergy who use it to prepare sermons - virtually anyone dealing with information management on the run." ThoughtManager 2.0 is based on Hands High's ThoughtMill 1.0. Two key improvements to ThoughtManager are the ability to share outlines with other ThoughtManager users and the ability to save outlines as templates. When a Palm hand held is synchronized with a desktop computer, like a PC or a Macintosh, ThoughtManager copies its Palm outlines to the desktop computer. These outlines can be given to other ThoughtManager users by attaching them to an e-mail or posting them on a Web site. To install an outline onto a Palm device the person who receives an outline would simply double-click on the outline and then synchronize. ThoughtManager users can also share outlines by beaming them to other ThoughtManager users via the Palm's infrared port. When used in conjunction with a Palm keyboard, ThoughtManager turns a Palm device into an excellent note-taking tool, especially for meetings. One person in a meeting can take notes and beam them to all other attendees at the end. Outlines can also be saved as templates and new outlines re-created from the template. Teachers, for example, find this invaluable -- especially if they teach the same course multiple times during the day. ThoughtManager lets teachers create multiple copies of their curriculum and class notes for each class and then check off what they cover in each class while the teach. The next day they will know where they left off. Teachers can even carry the Palm material in their hand for reference during class. Other enhancements to the product include attachable notes and drawings, selectable fonts, support for color Palm devices, and improved speed. ThoughtManager requires Palm OS 3.0 or above and 220 KB free space on a Palm compatible device, including the Handspring, Visor, Sony Clie', and IBM Workpad. It can be downloaded and installed from a Windows, Macintosh or Unix computer. ThoughtManager is available immediately for $19.95 from the Hands High Software Web site. A 30-day trial version is also available. About Hands High Software, Inc.
