FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MEMO PLUS 4 FROM HANDS HIGH ADDS ENCRYPTION, DRAWINGS, TEMPLATES, ALARMS, EMAIL, AND MORE TO PALM OS MEMOS

EAST PALO ALTO, Calif.,  July 21, 2003 --  Memo PLUS 4.0, from Hands High Software adds new capabilities for note taking on Palm OS handheld computers. Memo PLUS has a variety of capabilities that are not included in the built-in Palm OS Memo Pad, including: adding an alarm to a memo, attaching drawings, encrypting notes, creating templates of notes and drawings, sending notes as email or SMS messages, and lots more.

"It's a very versatile tool," says its creator, Shannon Pekary, president of Hands High Software. "We are amazed at the variety of ways it is being used today," he added.

For example, beta tester Steve Jordi uses it at job sites. "Using Memo PLUS, I made schematic drawings of two volcano monitoring systems on my Tungsten in the Philippines, working for a Japanese project there. The guys were blown away. Especially when I said that 'most good ideas started by a drawing on a napkin, now it can be done the same way but shared with other Palm users'"

One of the newest features is the ability to encrypt memos using DES encryption. Beta tester Kevin Martin said it is one of his most used features. "Encryption gives me the ability to encrypt sensitive memo's that I don't want exposed, even when my handheld is unlocked."

Another useful new feature is the QuickLauncher, which lets you set up a short list of applications to launch from the hardware memo button. Explains Pekary "Many people now have a variety of applications that are 'memo' like applications, including eBook readers, outliners, drawing programs, etc., and they must choose which one to start from the memo button. With Memo PLUS, you can start any of them by simply holding the memo button down for a second, and choosing from a popup list."

Other new features include: support for high-resolution screens, support for expandable screens, support for Palm OS 5 devices, customizable coloring, new sort options, the ability to send a note as an email or an SMS message, the ability to print a note using popular print managers, the ability to beam a note using Bluetooth, and many more.

Memo PLUS can be downloaded and installed from a Windows, Macintosh or Unix computer. It is available immediately for $19.95 from the Hands High Software Web site and registered users of previous versions of Memo PLUS can upgrade for $9.95. A 30-day trial version is also available from the Web site. For more information, see http://www.handshigh.com/html/memoplus.html.
