Here are just a few of the many uses for PhoneLog. Send us your ideas!
VoiceMail
PhoneLog excels at saving time with your voicemail. Most people do one of two things. They either keep their voicemail for days, constantly reviewing it to find the call they want to
return, or they write their voicemail on little pieces of note paper or stickies, and shuffle through them.
Instead, you should write down your voicemail with PhoneLog. It will automatically create a checklist for you of people to call back, and after you check off the people you have
called, you can use the purge command to delete it.
Customer Service
This ever happen to you?...You call a company for customer service and later, you have to call them back for some reason. But you forgot who you talked to! When you call back and
can't remember the persons name, you have to start all over with your service request.
Next time, record the call in PhoneLog. Then you will know who you called, and why!
Business Calls
Do you frequently make business calls away from the office, but never have a record of the call? Track your calls in PhoneLog while you make them and expense them! If you make your
business calls from home, you can compare your calls against your phone bill and know exactly which calls were for business.
IRS Tax Deductions
PhoneLog can save you money on your taxes if you:
- Own your own business (especially a home based business!)
- Are a real-estate broker
- Work for a non-profit organization
- Are an officer of a church
- Are adopting a child
- Have high medical expenses and frequently must call the doctor
PhoneLog will give you a complete record of your calls for the IRS, and compare these calls with your phone bill. You can then write them off as business expenses, non-profit
donations, medical expenses or adopting a child. Note that you should check with the IRS or your tax accountant for your particular application before doing this.

Tracking Future and Past Calls
This tip comes from user Len Cater:
"I use PhoneLog to track calls I need to make and archive calls I get. To do this, I have set up 3 types of calls: Archive, Left Message, To Call. These let me organize very quickly the calls I need to
focus on."
"I only use archive for calls that I need to legally track due to either an impportant decision, or a legal implication. The Left Message type is for when I have called a client and left them a message.
When they call back, I can quickly choose them from the Left Message list, and then change them to To Call if it is a voicemail I have received, and now its my turn to call them."
"I have further created a list of subjects, one of which is 'Left Message'. This I put on my To Call items if I am returning a call that they made to me."
"I find PhoneLog to be a valuable tool for tracking my calls and keeping them as separate items from other To Do's."
