HANDS HIGH SOFTWARE INTRODUCES FONT BUCKET,

NEW SOFTWARE UTILITY ENABLING EASIER FONT ACCESS AND USE IN PALM POWERED APPLICATIONS

FONTBUCKET TO BE DISTRIBUTED FOR FREE AT SYNCFEST 2001

San Jose, Calif. Oct. 29, 2001 Ð Hands High Software, Inc. announced today at the SyncFest 2001 conference, a new software utility that makes universal font use possible and easy to build-in to Palm Powered handheld applications. FontBucket is the first product to offer all Palm OS developers a standard mechanism to incorporate custom fonts into their products. Hands High Software also announced that it will give away FontBucket for free.

Previously, developers had to develop a unique interface for each application in order to provide font access for users. In addition, if use of a custom font was desired, the developer had to create each font and provide a mechanism allowing the user to install each font. Even then, these fonts would only be available for that one Palm OS application

FontBucket makes universal font selection a reality. It makes it easy for developers to use custom fonts within applications and easy for users to choose and use the fonts of their choice. The product ships with two popular font collections Ð Alpha Fonts and Cool Fonts. The Hands High Web site also includes other downloadable fonts (www.handshigh.com/fontbucket/).

From a userÕs perspective, FontBucket provides a central place to manage the fonts available to all applications supporting the FontBucket interface. Fonts are listed by name, size and style, and can easily be categorized, installed or deleted. FontBucket-enabled applications allow users to choose their desired font style from choices offered on a single screen.

From a developerÕs perspective, the FontBucket Software Development Kit gives developers a common, easy-to-use interface for including custom fonts into their applications. Adding FontBucket support to existing applications is fast and simple. FontBucket for the Macintosh also includes a tool to convert any Macintosh bitmapped font into a FontBucket font. The FontBucket application and the FontBucket Software Developer Kit are free, and can be distributed royalty free.

Shannon Pekary, Hands HighÕs founder and president, says he is giving the software away for free because he wants to: Òsupport the community of Palm developers and users. Creating ways to make software development easier, and the Palm better looking, helps all of us.Ó

FontBucket may be downloaded from the Hands High Web site (www.handshigh.com), and is available immediately. FontBucket is currently supported by Hands High SoftwareÕs ToDo PLUS application, and will be supported soon by ThoughtManager and the other Hands High products.

FontBucket requires Palm OS 3.0 or above and 100 KB free space on a Palm compatible device, including the HandSpring Visor, Sony Clie', and IBM Workpad.  It can be downloaded and installed from a Windows, Macintosh or Unix computer.
